Path Down To The Sea by Fredrick

Original Oil Painting
Size: 12"x16" unframed
20"x24" framed

Just a reminder that I always quote the size of the painting unframed, unless
otherwise noted. Frederick is an unknown artist but when I'm in the market purchasing, I consider the technique of the artist, color and subject needed for specific client's requests. And of course I have to want to take it home myself.

This little painting radiates it's own light. You can hang it next to your Monet and be proud!

Get in touch with the gallery and let's fill that empty spot.

Iris by Lowell Nesbitt

Original Serigraph
Pencil Signed
Numbered: 6/250
Paper: 21.50"x15"
Image: 12"x16"
Price: $200

I have two other works which haven't been photographed yet. One measures approximately 38"x52" framed. I used a silver fillet, 4" rolled white linen mat and a 1" round silver metal frame. It's a dogwood branch with whites, shades of pink and gray background. I should realize it by now that a picture is worth more than a thousand words!

I finally photographed Dogwood Branch. You can see it on FB and my blog. It's a very
beautiful piece. Feb. 10th, '12.

My other Nesbitt is in a tube, a very large tube. Today is not the day to deal with this piece there isn't a flat surface in sight!

Feb.9th '12 there still isn't a flat surface in sight.
Several weeks later and I still haven't dealt with my oversize Nesbitt.

Lowell Nesbitt was born in Baltimore and has had several shows at the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. His flower series are his most beautiful and poetic of the themes he has dealt with.

You have to take advantage of the prices that I am asking.
For more information on the artist? Google.

I posted another Nesbitt today 2/9/12, Blue Iris. Check it out. And one Nesbitt still remains in a tube and the Dogwood Branch that was photographed, the results weren't to my expectations, but I am going to post it anyway.

David Schneuer developed a style of his own during the golden period of German art. His work was successful and he became well known. He lived in Paris for a short time and in his pictures are noted social reflections on both Berlin and Paris between two World Wars.

Tuscan Landscape by Topaz

Oil Painting SOLD
30"x40" unframed

The hues of blue in the foreground are actually rich chocolate browns.I couldn't wait to post this painting so that I can share this quiet country path into the beautiful countryside of Chiante.

It's a wonderful view of this famous wine region and stop in at the restored farmhouse for a welcome glass.

The artist chose to use the palette knife to execute this work.

Still Life With Flowers & Limes by K.Rogers

Oil Painting
24"x36" unframed

The still-life emerged in the 16th century and before that appeared in religious pictures and portraits as part of the setting. When religious painting disappeared the still-life became popular. The objects in this painting don't have a significance beyond what you see or perhaps it may just suggest to you the season or just a display of the artist's virtuosity. However, it's an arrangement of "objets de luxe".

Mediterranean Villa by L. Romney SOLD

Oil Painting
24"x36"

The artist is L.Romney, unlisted, but that never matters to me. My rule of thumb in purchasing some pieces for the gallery is: I see it, I like it, if I can afford it, I buy it. And I did. It just worked. I custom made a 2.50" gold frame with a 1" linen liner; it was perfect in my under $300 collection .

Tuscan Garden

Oil Painting
30"X40"

This lush garden surrounds a renovated farmhouse that is situated in one of the most beautiful locations in Tuscany. The colors are glorious! And I'd like to book the next flight out.

The artist forgot to sign the painting, but I couldn't resist the purchase. The importer of this work has power of attorney to sign but I chose it "as is". It can be signed at a later date at a client's request.

Woman with Rose

Oil Painting
24"x36" unframed

The painting is unsigned but it really doesn't matter to me as long as it is
well executed and just what I was looking for; the warmth and tenderness of pinks, whites and pearly flesh tones which entrance me in a "Romantic Portrait".

In my $300 collection, unframed. Contact the gallery.

River with Sailboats I by Morris

Oil Painting
24"x36" unframed

I've been selling the work of Morris for several years without the knowledge of his biography. I don't even know his first name. All I know is that each time I want to purchase his paintings they have either been sold out or the pieces available have out priced themselves from the gallery. I had a good run with them.

Any style of frame works well with this painting, the choice will be yours.

Morris's paintings were some of the most successful works I sold in the gallery. They were available in every standard size. Only two remain, the one posted here and the other to be posted shortly.

Morris has the reputation of being a great landscape artist. In this painting he developed a mood by creating poetic lighting effects, a large mass of trees on one side balanced by a smaller mass on the other, the middle distance, a small feature as the woman and the far distance of mountains or river. This is just a good representation of a successful landscape.

Morris has the use of only one arm, and information on his life has not yet been available.

Persian Woman I by Mara Abboud

Original Silk Screen
Image: 34"x22"
Paper: 38.75"x28"
Pencil Signed
Edition: 87/225

I held onto two Mara Abboud silkscreens for many years; the two seen here. They were acquired by me through my affiliation with Edward Weston Graphics. I always preferred the gift of art in lieu of anything else. I can't remember if Ed Weston published these editions or bought them from the artist for his fund raising auction company, ART IS FOREVER, they were in the inventory before I began working there.

Upon my doing research on the artist I discovered that she is a cousin of the poet/philosopher Kahil Gibran whose work I became very familiar with in college.

I'm sure you'll take the opportunity to google both the artist and her cousin.

A bird just flew into the gallery and I have to try and help it find the way out.

Persian Girl I by Mara Abboud

Brilliant colors achieve jewel-like tapestry effects resembling stained glass.
The artist was born in 1949 and is presently enjoying her successful career. She is the sister of Joseph Abboud the international designer. Her works were in the collection of the former World Trade Center. I haven't seen works of art as beautiful in detailing as Abboud's.

Paris Street Scene I by Pencke

Oil Painting
20"x24" unframed

Penke has been enjoying success in my gallery for several years and in others as well. The pieces have become scarce at the dealers and this is a good sign for the artist but not for me; prices have escalated....like everything else.
I like Penke because each painting is full of life and tells it's own story and I like his concentration of painting street scenes, especially Paris.

As soon as possible I'll post the 24"x36" pieces; two left.

Frame Corner

If anyone has a source for this frame, please let me know. The company I've been dealing with for over 30 years has sized down and are not importing baroque frames. It was a company where I could visit and do my own selecting in the warehouse. I tried ordering through the catalogs but I was disappointed with everything; the cost of shipping, imperfections in gold leafing, packaging and it never ended.

I expanded my custom framing department and it proved to be a good move. I can even make a shadow box in any depth. I can frame a basketball or your bike!

Paris Street Scene II by Pencke - Oil Painting

This is the Pencke painting without the frame. If the baroque frame doesn't work for you I have a wide selection of moldings to select from for one I can custom make.

I wish I could post my moldings here. I don't know what to do first some days, I'm
sure I'll get to everything sooner or later.

You just have to love this business!

Floral With Three Blue Morning Glories by Elpeco

Oil Painting SOLD
24"x36"

The oil painting is 36"x48" framed. The frame, only partially seen is 6" wide. So you have to remember to include the size of the frame needed to accommodate the space designated for hanging. Some homes just have limited wall space, unfortunately, so I have to work with measurements. I avoid having pieces brought back because "it didn't fit".

It's simply a beautiful floral by an artist whose art I've sold but presently cannot find the source for his work. They eventually move on and so do I.
