The still-life emerged in the 16th century and before that appeared in religious pictures and portraits as part of the setting. When religious painting disappeared the still-life became popular. The objects in this painting don't have a significance beyond what you see or perhaps it may just suggest to you the season or just a display of the artist's virtuosity. However, it's an arrangement of "objets de luxe".
