First generation Armenian-American, Nakian was born in 1897 in Long Island. He began his career as a sculptor and then teacher. After moving into a newly built studio in Stamford. He became a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and received the Brandeis Award for Art. This exhibition included the beginnings of Nakian's series of monumental works reflecting the theme of "Leda and the Swan."

In April of 1983 a public reception was held for the artist at the Bergen County Museum in Paramus, New Jersey which I had the pleasure of attending.

The Leda and the Swan posted here is from my personal collection.

If you have the chance, do more research on the artist and get back to me for my price. I'll respectfully consider your offer. Reuben Nakian belongs in your collection of creative geniuses.
